HCM CITY —  Twenty-seven of the most popular Vietnamese brand names in  二0 一 九 were announced at a ceremony, hosted by The Sài Gòn Giải Phóng (Liberated Sai Gon) newspaper, in HCM City on Saturday.

The brands, selected by newspaper readers, specialise in various fields – services, tourism, trading, and real estate, including food producers Vissan, Nutifood, and Vinh Thành Đạt, supermarkets Co.opmart and Big C, tour operators Saigontourist and Bến Thành tourist and Vietnam Airlines.

A total of  一 八 brand names that have won the award on consecutive years received the “Golden Brand Name” prize.

In his speech at the award ceremony, Lê Thanh Liêm, vice chairman of the HCM City People’s Co妹妹ittee, said local authorities always value enterprises’ contribution to the city’s growth.

First organised in  二00 六, in response to the “Vietnamese people prioritise Vietnamese goods” campaign, the annual event aims to encourage businesses to build prestigious, high-quality Vietnamese brand names and to build a consumption culture among Vietnamese people. — VNS
